終於看了《歌劇魅影》。
這次因為新冠疫情，為安撫在家隔離的鬱悶大眾並為英國NHS募款，韋伯（Andrew Lloyd Webber，以下簡稱ALW）大放送，在YouTube無償播放《歌劇魅影》25週年的盛大紀念演出（2011年在Royal Albert Hall），僅限48小時。
我也就看了，還是得感受一下這音樂劇大傳奇究竟有多傳奇。
該怎麼說呢？
音樂劇唱腔唱法始終不是我的菜，尤其這個製作的主角都屬於演很大的唱法，太用力。我對劇情本身也很難投入，兩男ㄧ女的公式化灑狗血故事，裡面的角色每個都有種病態缺陷、充斥各種情緒勒索（這就是人性和人生啊～），特別厭惡女主角.......（然後我就會想乾脆讓魅影跟勞爾在一起好了。）
但是音樂面創作果然是經典等級，ALW寫洗腦歌的功力實在驚人。《歌劇魅影》作為傳奇的成功關鍵大概是，這裡面不只一首洗腦歌，是很多首洗腦歌！不過只有音樂也不夠，要有辦法把各項表演藝術元素整合一體，是項高門檻的事業：整體華麗舞台氛圍、精緻的戲服、大陣容樂團舞者和歌者，一切都是才華和錢。難怪ALW一定得和他的製作人Cameron Mackintosh攬牢牢～
所謂的great show一定要有燦爛的結尾。在正式演出結束後，ALW出場，一一答謝當年倫敦首演的眾人，飲水思源勿忘初衷的這種感性場面完全不輸劇中的各段情感戲。再來高潮就是歷任主角的大合唱。
此時我才知道原來莎拉布萊曼就是首演的女主角兼ALW前妻，由她和其他魅影合唱《The Phantom of the Opera》主題曲。第二段安可則是各魅影們合唱《The Music of the Night》。最後全體在合唱中向觀眾謝幕，施放一連串煙火絢麗作結，氣勢高揚～
從最後合唱發現，老魅影才是高手啊！一前踏步站出來，一開口，便知有沒有。看完之後的後座力就是，開始搜尋各個版本（無面罩、無女主角礙眼版本）。
雖然倫敦西區首演魅影Michael Crawford只有現身沒有獻唱，YouTube還是可以找到影片。眾人奉他為圭臬是因為他有種特殊的音色和調調，充分表現出魅影的邪氣和隨時可爆走的不穩定感。

其他幾位獻唱的魅影則各有特色。
Colm Willkinson（愛爾蘭人）是預演（preview）和加拿大製作的首演魅影，資深經歷的氣場驚人，愛爾蘭腔在發音th, s和g以及r和n的鼻音有種特殊的韻味。

John Owen-Jones（威爾斯人）是倫敦西區製作在任最久的魅影，曖曖內含光，他的聲音唱法對我來說非常有魅力。

Anthony Warlow（澳洲人）是澳洲製作的首演魅影，唱法結合聲樂和說書感，手很搶戲。

回到這首《Music of the Night》，歌詞寫得相當精緻（音樂劇演唱咬字一定要很清楚，不然很多情節就無法交代......），除了漂亮的押韻和用字之外，真是觸及所謂「美好」的條件，不管談的是音樂、藝術、愛情或者是任何美好事物。（怎麼好像可以聯想到一種天人合一的境界？ㄍㄜ）
